Do not use reciprocal link exchanges!

A few years back, people would often do link swaps.  This would give each site some traffic and a boost in the Google rankings, as Google
were less advanced than they are now.

We find it concerning is that for the past three years the search engines and SEO experts have made it extremely clear that reciprocal linking is is virtually useless.  Not only do the search engines almost totally discount those reciprocal links, but to many of them could actually earn your site a penalty.

So why do people still use reciprocal link sites?

Maybe it  is that they simply do a search for a link exchange site. It is those established reciprocal link websites that appear at the top of the list. Not knowing any different, people signup and swap links, under the false impression that what they are undertaking is linkbuilding.

It is not.

The only links worth having now are non-reciprocal links to your site.

From now on when you search for "a link exchange"  pay attention to those search results that allow your website to grow one way links. a one way link exchange.  If it involves reciprocal links, for the health of your site, and avoiding a pointless task, simply ignore those reciprocal link exchange sites.
